The Best Thanksgiving...

EVER!

and, it really was.

At first, I imagined this Thanksgiving being the same as every other year; maybe a couple of different dishes and desserts- but overall, the same: eat, talk, maybe watch a movie, and sleep. Which, I am perfectly fine with, but this Thanksgiving was different. First of all, there was snow! A white Thanksgiving, fancy that. Now, I am not going to give you the play by play, but I will give a couple of my top reasons why this Thanksgiving has been amazing!

1. I had TWO dinners, yes, 2 dinners! One was the traditional turkey (one smoked and one fried), stuffing, creamed corn, cranberry sauce, mashed taters and gravy, fruit salad, rolls, ham, chips, dips, pies and much much more. The second one included all you could eat homemade spicy hot chicken wings, salads, dips, and more pie. Let me tell you, the food was just amazing and I did eat way too much- but, it is so hard not to. You can't eat at one Thanksgiving and not the other... it is just rude :)(WARNING: Do not touch other parts of your body without washing your hands after eating Bob's homemade sauce... you know eyes, ears, nose, and many others- it freakin' stings.)

2. After practically going into a food coma, Jake and I battled it out for the iPad while trying to progress through the hundreds of levels of "Angry Birds".. which is a super simple, fun game. Kind of reminds me of Tetrias- but you sling shot birds to try and kill pigs. Sounds inhumane, but it totally is not.

3. Jake and I were able to laugh hysterically as we decided to mess around on Urbandictionary.com and look up our names, as well as family and friends. You should try it! While we looked at those, his mom really wanted to know what we were doing- so we told her. Me not using my head- told her about the sight and that we were looking up mine and Jake's (James') names. Jake instantly shoots me a look, and it clicks what James really meant from this Urban Dictionay.. haha something soooo inappropriate that his mom did not need to read, so the laughter escalated and as we laughed to a point where mascara was running down my face and Jake was choking and could not breathe- I realized how much fun we have together, and I would not trade it for the world. Just in case you wanted to know... this is what mine said:

Alexie: an amazing girl that gives it her best. she's a little tough on judging herself, but truely kicks ass! doesnt take shit from people, especially bitches and lamesauce bois. gonna be famous some day...and she doesnt even know it ex. Damn! that girl is such an Alexie...she's on fire!

hah, love it. And James'.. his just does not need to be on my blog :) now you really want to know.. don't you? Trust me, you do not.

4. Mom and I Black Friday shopped in the rocking chairs at wee hours of the morning. It was actually a ton of fun. Of course one could hear the occasional curse word here and there as things were sometimes sold out from under us, but it was awesome none the less. We also got to munch on homemade almond roca courtesy of Debbie! Yum! I have been kind of obsessed with buying DVDs lately because most of the time they are cheaper than renting and I am one of those people that can watch a good movie over and over and over again. So, in my cart this Black Friday- I clicked away to buy: All 3 Lord of the Rings, Kick-Ass, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (my fam watches it every year, so why not have my own copy?), The Notebook, and Season 5 of Weeds all for a whopping price of 40 bucks!! :) and then to add to it, Jake scored a pretty sweet 20th Anniversary Edition of Dirty Dancing for me. Definitely one of my all-time favorites! He must love me or something!
5. Mom and I proceeded to stay up until 6am talking about life. It was simply wonderful.
Now the main point I guess. Ah, I was surrounded by pure joy all day and I couldn't have wished for anything better. I truly am thankful to have such wonderful people in my life (including those not seen on this great day)- it makes the journey totally worth it. Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving as you all deserve happiness and joy as well- I know I did. The best one ever.
PS Jake and I watched the Expendables... holy crap- possibly one of my favorite movies right now. You have to go watch it. Now. No really. Now. Drive to Blockbuster and rent it. Now. So many of my favorite actors all combined into one kick-ass film= heaven.
