Tomorrow, the journey begins. You know, waking up at 4:00 in the morning does not sound too horrible at the moment… but I am sure it will be hell here in about 5 hours. Off to the gym I go, to begin my journey of not only getting back to the wonderful physique my body once knew my senior year of high school and freshman year of college, and possibly even better. It is time to stop thinking about it and just do it, as Nike so often says. Jake is on board this train with me, but he started a month ago and is already down 15 pounds! Damn, men have it easy. It is nice to have someone there to push me though. For example- last week I tested my strength of getting up at 4 am and was able to do it! I did an intense leg workout with Jake. I told him I did not need to do calves- because let’s face it, mine are already huge… he made me do it anyway. Afterwards- the almost-popping-out-of-me-leg sensation those poor calves were going through actually felt pretty dang good. As weird as this sounds, after two work outs, I could already see some definition coming back to my legs. I like the looks of that- but really, it is time to get serious. I am not a fan of diets (other than South Beach and Weight Watchers- which I have seen work wonders for people if followed religiously), because I feel like they do not work- but I am all up for eating smaller portions and eating more balanced meals and snacks throughout the day. Some things I will do without though will consist of pop, fast food, and midnight snacking. I am hoping this new schedule of mine (with volleyball being over and an intense workout 6 days a week) will make me tired enough to go to bed at a decent hour. No more of this midnight-3 am madness of doing nothing productive. I am also going to keep a journal of my daily routine and food intake- it is going to be a lot of fun to see the changes that will come over time of hard work and dedication. It will all be worth it :)
I am excited for the new change of lifestyle back to what it once was… I deserve it… my body deserves it.
I am signing off for now and will definitely be updating here and there about this new journey of mine, but until next time- enjoy a couple of pictures!
