Plus and Minus

Hold the front door everyone, a new post after 2 whole months, insane. The sad thing, these last two months have felt like two weeks to me, and I am just completely and utterly flabbergasted at how much time can seriously mesh together and sneak away from a person without them even knowing! (haha, I have never used the word flabbergasted before, sounds kind of like the name of some sort of weird sounding fart, I like it.) I swore I would get better at this blogging thing but we could legitimately call it a fail now. Maybe there is hope, but I am not banking on it. I also lied on my last post… my new adventure of Harry Potter has been paused on page 7 of the first book and has not been looked at probably since that post. Sad day.

Needles to say, HOLY CRAP… so much going on- so much to catch up on- including my breath. I have decided it would be pretty helpful to just throw my entire jumble into a plus/minus chart. How about them apples?

+School is awesome. I love, love, LOVE it. I am taking 3 methods courses (Math, Science, and Social Studies) and a Renaissance History class (even more badass)

-I hate discussion/blog posts for class and my so-called “friend” stealing my posts 3 days after mine, yet the professor allows it? Hello, we are supposed to be future teachers? This is unacceptable- and it happens all the time with the same person. This previous session involves finding a diary of someone between the 1800s and 1920’s and read their diary a few entries at a time. Before we began reading the diary, we had to come up with a set of 10-15 questions we would like to answer for ourselves by reading the diary. I chose to read a diary by Edwin Evan Jones who was a young medic in WWI. I thought my questions were rather neat, apparently- so did someone else (she also picked a person from WWI). No joke, she literally copied my questions and pasted them into her post… absolutely ridiculous.

+My amazing schedule! School Mon and Wed, Work Tues and Thurs, and my practicum at Ochoa on Fridays! Volleyball every night... but I am home by 5:30 Mon, Wed, Fri... and Weekends off (for the most part) AMAZING! I love spending time with Jake and my family… it has never felt so good to have a family TV night that consists of Wipe Out, Dancing with the Stars, Shaq VS, random movies here and there, and the occasional UFC fights on PayPerView.

+I really love watching Family Guy/King of the Hill/YouTube with my 11 year old brother… his perception of things at his age literally crack me up :) Yes, I know... I am a bad influence- but really, you will never hear any of those nasty words from his mouth. He is such a great kid and I really do cherish the time I have been able to spend with him! I haven’t always had the time to be there for him with 3 jobs and school full time- while also trying to have a little bit of social life. Now, my social life consists of a large part of him! He started playing Lacrosse, which has also been awesome being able to go and root him on! He has always been my number one fan, now I can be his! :) Proud sister right here everyone! Damn, making me cry- stupid blog.

+ Volleyball season is about half-way through- and of course I love volleyball! My team is a ton of fun and the girls work their little butts off!

-The JV team consists of 7 freshman, 2 sophomores, and one junior. Oh yes, and their average height- 5’1” :)

+We won our first game today!! Wooooohooo!! They deserved it after all of the hard work and improvement they have been experiencing. It has been such a wonderful journey with them, seeing how far they have come just from the first week to now. What is even more exciting is that I will have basically the same team next year! (Even the referees that we had the first week of games and today for the tournament, shed multiple compliments on how much the team has improved and how they admire their composure on the court as a team… Ballllllliiiiin’) haha…

-I have not had a free Saturday in 3 weeks and will not have one until October 16; it makes time fly too fast only having one weekend-day.

+Jake and I are freakin’ amazing… and I could not ask for a more supportive and motivating other half. He will drive 20 minutes out of his way just to come give me a hug, a kiss, and a good luck before I hit the road to a game because that might be the only time we see each other that week- Yes, he is awesome. It has been kind of fun in a different way lately, there has been an abnormal amount of “future-talk” and I love it.

-We really do only see each other once a week, twice if we are lucky.

-I haven’t done any personal reading lately- lame.

+I got a new pair of purple Nike Shox for my birthday- they are pretty sweet.

-I hate only working 2 days a week- I am poor, but the family time/sleep is well worth it.

+I no longer average 3 hours of sleep a night, it has come close to doubling 6-7 hours a night! On rare occasion of procrastination that is not true, but hell, it is college after all!

Ok, I promise one more. I did not mean for this to be a novel… but once you start, it is hard to stop! A lot can happen in two months!

And last but not least, the most important of all…
+I believe I am the happiest I have truly been in a long time.
